Linda Richards

I grew up in the Chicago area and lived in Minneapolis before gravitating to the West, which is now home.

I have a strong healthcare background, having worked as a hospital and public health nutritionist/registered dietitian, health educator, and as a pharmaceutical sales rep before getting a journalism master’s degree at Columbia University.

I did 14 years as a writer/editor of medical trend reports for OTR Global (formerly Off the Record Research) and have 25 years of freelance writing/editing for clients including pharmaceutical /medical device companies, top women’s and health magazines, and publishers.

My environmental writing interest began with my experience as a park ranger at the Grand Canyon (best job ever!) and as a board member for several environmental organizations. My published article topics include the organic industry where I wrote features for the Organic Trade Association’s Organic Report magazine for several years.

I also write environmental articles, mostly on native plants, tree health, and other natural science topics for local newspapers and for my nature blog If Nature Could Talk

Most recently I took a memoir writing class Write you Memoir in Six Months with Brooke Warner and Linda Joy Myers – See Brooke Warner’s website for a list of memoir classes. I’ll keep you posted on my upcoming memoir~!
